Director, Product & Portfolio Management
Scope:
The Director - Product & Portfolio Management will manage and promote our company’s discretionary managed account platform and its fee-based non-discretionary account platform. The platform comprises a Separately Managed Account program as well as the Advisor Managed Retail program. This person will act as Supervising Portfolio Manager for the Advisor Managed program.
Essential Functions:
- Develop policies, procedures as well as standards related to the Advisor Managed Retail program related to pricing, features and benefits as well as portfolio construction.
- Managed Account approvals and Portfolio Model approvals.
- Qualified with CIRO to monitor and supervise Portfolio Managers/Associate Portfolio Managers.
- Train advisors on quantitative and qualitative portfolio model development and maintenance.
- Provide basic product training to advisors in the 90-Day Training Program.
- Interact with service providers for modelling software, research and trading. Experience with Dataphile and d1g1t is an asset.
- Interact with Compliance and Marketing.
- Manage In-House SMA models.
- Run monthly Portfolio Manager online calls.
- Provide written commentary in the form of Market Commentaries, and Client facing material.
- Assist Advisors through client presentations and other business development activities.
- Monitor third party Managers and expand the SMA program where appropriate.
- Manage Product Shelf – keep on top of current OM-based funds and supervise new product requests/approvals.

Professional Designation:
- CIM or CFA certification is required
Work Experience:
- Experience with CIRO systems (d1g1t, Dataphile, etc.)
- Experience with Portfolio Management/Bulk Trading systems and operations.
- Relevant CIRO proficiency requirements to be able to supervise Options Trading
